Live water measurements from the IJsselmeer
Conductivity readings with GPS from De Friesland, live over 4G to PWN’s Azure environment for learning and model verification.

Understanding salinisation
Salinisation puts pressure on the IJsselmeer as a freshwater source. PWN collects measurements from De Friesland to build knowledge and verify models. The data is currently not used directly for water-intake decisions.
Connecting an existing meter live
We connected the existing Yokogawa conductivity meter, providing a 4–20 mA signal, to a gateway and GPS. Readings and location are sent live over 4G to PWN’s Azure environment. Conductivity provides insight into changes associated with dissolved salts.
Measurements for research
PWN can use the location-linked readings to better understand the water and compare models with observations. No measurements are transmitted when the boat is stationary in the harbour. Transmission thus follows the research conducted underway on the lake.
